THE Scottish Ambulance Service is to take delivery of up to 180 Volkswagen ambulances over the next two years.

The order for the LT56 coach-built vehicles is worth £4.5 million, and raises the size of the service fleet to 340.

The Volkswagens replace the service’s older Mercedes-Benz and Ford ambulances.
