The British Vehicle Rental and Leasing Association’s head of communications, Robin Mackonochie, raised nearly £6,000 for charity after completing the London Marathon in April.

With donations from the fleet industry, Mackonochie (pictured below at the finish) raised £5,800 for motor industry charity BEN.

He said: ‘I’m pleased to say that I completed the marathon although in a slightly slower time than I’d anticipated at just under five hours. The atmosphere was simply amazing for runners and spectators alike with both sets of people being really supportive.

‘Happily, I was totally injury-free, unlike some of my fellow runners who really showed their bravery and determination to finish despite damaged tendons and muscles.’
