BOB Austin has joined motor manufacturer Kia Motors as its new head of corporate sales and remarketing.

Austin brings more than 16 years’ experience of corporate sales to the role and through his past experience is hoping to raise the profile of the Kia brand in the fleet industry.

Before joining Kia, Austin worked at Mazda Motors as national corporate sales manager, where he helped increase Mazda’s fleet sales from almost 2,000 units in 2002 to more than 18,000 in 2005. Following a push in the retail market Kia is now looking to establish a stronger foothold in the corporate market and Austin will be heading the drive.

Austin said: ‘Kia has already achieved considerable success in fleet through contract hire, Motability and daily rental sales. We hope that by demonstrating an understanding of the demands and concerns of the fleet customer, we can deliver what the fleet manager wants.’
