Revised X5 with room for seven

THIS is the first picture of BMW’s revised X5, which will be available for the first time with seven seats.

The new SUV, which goes on sale next spring, features a new look, more powerful engines and new technology under the skin.

Three models will be available – 3.0-litre straight-six petrol and diesels and the high performance 4.8i.

Key additions to the new model include a new six-speed automatic gearbox, head-up display, run-flat tyres, active suspension and the option of active steering.

  • BMW will launch three new six-cylinder engines into the 3-series range from next month. The 335i features a twin-turbocharged 3.0-litre petrol engine offering 306bhp while the 335d uses a twin-turbo 3.0-litre diesel producing 286bhp. Also new is the 325d – a 3.0-litre turbodiesel with 197bhp.
