Hitachi wins British Gas deal

HITACHI Capital is pleased to announce it has won two multi-million pound vehicle supply deals with Centrica for its British Gas business.

The deal is valued at more than £50 million.

Under the new contracts, Hitachi Capital will provide British Gas with financing for 2,700 company cars and 2,300 light vans.

In addition to the car financing, Hitachi Capital will also provide a service package which includes full maintenance and repair and an intranet site that will allow company car drivers to order vehicles online, check specifications and download essential car policy information.

These latest agreements expand the existing fleet contract with Centrica, which Hitachi Capital won in 2005, from 9,800 commercial vans to a new total of 12,500 vehicles.
