Hydrogen power for BMW 7-series

BMW has announced plans to launch a hydrogen-powered production version of its 7-series.

The Hydrogen 7, which will go on sale in limited numbers next year, uses a 260bhp V12 engine capable of running on either petrol or liquid hydrogen.

The driver will be able to switch between the two fuels via a button on the steering wheel. When running on hydrogen, the BMW’s only emissions are water vapour.
