How many vehicles are you responsible for?
We have a total of 1,500 vehicles in the UK operating from 64 depots.
What’s the worst thing one of your drivers has done?
You name it, they’ve done it. There are too many to mention – I could write a book on the industry.
What is your biggest bugbear as a fleet manager?
The continually changing goalposts from Government policy on transport, and the high cost of fuel on this side of the Channel.
What one thing would you introduce to make your life easier at work?
Proper legislation to ensure outstanding bills are paid on time. We spend too many hours chasing overdue accounts, which is ironic when the same customers moan if a delivery is five minutes late.
What’s your favourite holiday destination?
Pissouri in southern Cyprus. Unfortunately it has lost a lot of its charm since joining the EU.
