The TDI version uses a familiar turbodiesel system but the TSI is the supercharger/turbocharger 1.4-litre petrol unit, a new development in engine technology.
And not only does it buck the trend in the way it produces power, but also in residual value terms. CAP claims that its combination of power, refinement and economy will make it a hit with used buyers and it will match the diesel – a rare occurrence in this sector.
