FLEET News is leading by example in its commitment to helping readers run a cheaper, cleaner, safer fleet by offsetting the emissions created by the advertising sales team for a year.

The CarbonNeutral Company was commissioned to support enough emission-reducing projects to offset the CO2 emissions from the sales team’s cars while they are out on the road or rail, equivalent to 37.1 tonnes of pollution.

Work carried out by the CarbonNeutral Company ranges from planting trees to soak up CO2 emissions to swapping kerosene burners in Sri Lanka for zero-emission solar panels.

The Fleet News initiative was launched alongside Green Fleet Guide, published in December, which provided practical advice on how fleets can reduce their emissions without harming their competitiveness.

Leanne Patterson, project manager for Fleet News supplements, said: ‘This is part of a much wider commitment to the environment at Fleet News, including the use of paper sourced from sustainable forests.

‘Our Green Fleet Guide was printed on recycled paper to make the most of the green message it carried.’

For copies of the supplement, priced at £15, simply log on to www.fleetnews.co.uk and click on the supplements link.
