Costs chopped

SCOTTISH-based catering butcher Campbell’s Prime Meat hopes to eliminate driver overtime payments after installing telematics systems in its 75 delivery vehicles.

The company, whose customers include hotels and restaurants across Scotland, says the technology provided by Cybit will also improve service to customers.

Financial controller Stephen Sweeney said: ‘We are as much a delivery company as we are a manufacturer, and so the efficiency of our logistics operation is critical to the success of the business. This solution will also help us to reduce driver overtime by better planning of delivery routes, enabling us to operate our fleet more efficiently.’

The internet-based telematics system features real-time tracking, mileage information and reporting, among other features.
