Keith Wright, national dealer training manager Manheim.

  • How have you settled into your new role?
There’s been a fair bit of preparatory work but I’m enjoying taking up the new challenge.

  • What do you enjoy about training people?
Training can be very rewarding, particularly if someone you’ve trained contacts you to say it’s made a difference to them.

  • Is there anything you don’t enjoy about the job?
It doesn’t happen often but sometimes people turn up with a hangover or very late.

  • What particular qualities do you need to work in a training environment?
Obviously it’s important to be professional and accurate, but far more important than that is experience of actually doing what you are training others to do. Trainers must also have the ability to listen – I’m still learning after 34 years.

  • What piece of technology could you not live without?
It would be my laptop as my whole life is on it.

  • What are you working on at the moment?
I’m finalising my November and December schedule of courses so that they can be advertised.
