Malta told to end petrol monopoly

The European Commission is taking Malta to the European Court of Justice seeking an order to force it to allow competition in petrol retailing in the country.

The state-owned corporation Enemalta currently enjoys a legal monopoly for importing, storing and whole-saling petroleum products.
