Road money for Bulgaria

Bulgaria’s road system is to be raised from its current poor and congested standard following a 1.6 billion investment from the European Commission.

New motorways will be built and existing international routes upgraded, such as the Vratza-Botevgrad, Struma and Maritza motorways.

The money will also improve Bulgarian railways and inland waterways, reducing road congestion.
