The first new additions to the fleet - 10 Honda Civic Hybrid cars – have been delivered to Rhodar, the asbestos removal arm of the Lexia Solutions Group.
Under the new, greener car policy, all Lexia Solutions Group’s fleet cars will have CO2 emissions of no more than 165g/km on automatic transmissions, and 155g/km on manual cars, with fuel consumption restricted to a minimum of 45mpg combined.
With light commercial vehicles making up 70% of the fleet, the new van policy will ensure that the ideal sized vehicle is available to carry out any job correctly and efficiently, ie not using a large van when a small one will suffice.
This not only reduces the van fleet’s impact on the environment, but also improves the Lexia Solutions Group’s cost efficiencies and vehicle utilisation.
The Honda Hybrids will be used by a number of Rhodar employees, from office managers to sales personnel.
The cars will be replaced after 36 months and are expected to average 60,000 miles during that time.
