PEUGEOT has released the first picture of its new hot hatchback – the 207 GTi THP 175 which makes its world debut at next month’s Geneva Motor Show.

Powered by a turbocharged petrol engine developing 175bhp, the 207 GTi will go head-to-head with the Clio Renaultsport 197 from its arch rival Renault.

The engine is the result of a joint venture between PSA Peugeot Citroën and BMW – the engine also powers the MINI Cooper S. The 207 GTi goes on sale in the UK in May.
