Spyshot: Junior GL to target BMW X3

MERCEDES-BENZ will muscle in on the premium mid-size SUV market next year with the launch of the GLK soft-roader.

Based on the platform of the new C-class saloon, the GLK will be offered with two and four-wheel drive versions (the former to offer a lower entry-price point) and a choice of engines – including the familiar 2.2 and 3.2-litre CDI turbodiesels. All will be available with the 7G-tronic automatic gearbox.
