A MAJOR conference will cover new legislation ranging from the Road Safety Act to new smoking laws and environmental issues.

The Fleet News Risk in Fleet conference, which takes place on May 15 at the National Motorcycle Museum, Birmingham, focuses on two key areas – financial risk and corporate risk.

The event is designed for fleet operators at all levels who are looking for a detailed briefing on the key issues facing their businesses when it comes to financial and corporate risk.

It will attract senior delegates from the fleet management industry, covering companies that run company cars and vans, with the contents based on feedback from fleet operators and the views of several industry experts.

Among the key issues covered will be the fall-out from the 2007 Budget, the financial risks of the smoking ban which comes into force this year.

Other issues include the writing fleet risk policies, how to adapt fleet policies to improve driver safety, managing drivers, getting management to listen, and managing opt-out drivers.

Other issues covered include how to manage future environmental risks effectively, such as managing fuel costs and long-term supply and an update on progress of the Corporate Manslaughter Bill.
