LABORATORY instrumentation supplier Anachem aims to offset the CO2 emissions of its 78-strong company car fleet with the planting of almost 4,000 trees.

The company is one of the first to have signed up to ALD Automotive’s CARbon Offset initiative, launched in association with the Woodland Trust.

It coincides with Anachem launching a greener company policy which includes limiting its diesel-only fleet to cars with a maximum CO2 emission figure of 180g/km. Bosses have also extended replacement cycles from three years/75,000 miles to four years/100,000 miles.

After calculating how much CO2 it expects to emit over the next four years, company bosses have presented the Woodland Trust with a cheque for more than £14,700.
