FORD’S new Mondeo will have significantly higher residual values than the model it replaces, according to EurotaxGlass’s.

It thinks the 2.0 TDCi 140 Zetec, the likely big seller, will retain 35% of its cost new after three years/ 60,000 miles, compared to 29% for the current model.

Forecasting editor Jason King said: ‘With the new car, a premium feel is far more evident, injecting a much-needed shot of desirability to the Mondeo.’
