MEDICAL insurance and dental plan company HSA is trialling environmentally-friendly cars on its fleet.

Vehicles like the Honda Civic Hybrid could soon become options on its choice list following the pilot scheme.

Fleet manager Mark Bradbury said: ‘With a rapidly expanding fleet of company cars it’s become increasingly important for HSA to take steps to help combat the effect these vehicles have on the environment. Over three years ago HSA made the decision to reduce CO2 emissions by moving to a diesel-only solution. This has seen our average CO2 output reduced from 177g/km per vehicle to 152.8g/km.’

Mr Bradbury added: ‘By keeping on top of developments such as the Civic, we can focus on continuing to cut down on carbon emissions further and do our bit for the environment.’
