Altea SUV gets tough

In common with most volume car firms, SEAT is entering the small SUV sector with a jacked-up version of the Altea.

The Freetrack gains four-wheel drive and an extra 40mm of ground clearance compared to the stock Altea. It also has body cladding.

On sale in the UK this September, the Freetrack has two engine options – the 200bhp turbocharged FSI petrol unit from the Volkswagen Golf and a 170bhp 2.0-litre turbodiesel.
