The Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has revamped its 2,200-strong fleet and awarded a five-year contract hire and fleet management services contract to Inchcape Fleet Solutions.

Going live in August, the contract will involve Inchcape Fleet Solutions undertaking a sale and leaseback on the existing fleet. The DWP’s businesses include Jobcentre Plus, The Pension Service, Child Support Agency, Disability and Carers Service and the Rent Service.

The contract win builds on the company’s existing portfolio of Government department clients, which includes HM Revenue & Customs, Adult Learning Inspectorate, Heath & Safety Executive, Construction Industry Training Board and the Land Registry.

Once the sale and leaseback is completed, any vehicle more than four years old will be replaced.
