Careers: how are you settling in?

Paul Coley, associate director, Lex Momentum

  • How are you finding your new role?

I’ve been in the fleet industry for five years now and this firm is a far more diverse consultancy practice than my previous posts. The breadth of knowledge in the team and the variety of areas in scope make it a complete consultancy – akin to my days at KPMG – which has made each consultation different and more fulfilling.

  • What has been the best part so far?

Working together with the customers, finding solutions and being involved in that process, rather than just producing reports and moving on to the next.

  • And the worst?

    Nothing yet, fingers crossed.

  • Which fleet issues do you find yourself dealing with most often?

My expertise lies in car ownership schemes, a hot topic at the moment with the HMRC’s current review. Customers operating such schemes are looking for guidance and our involvement with the HMRC has kept us close to the debate and in a good position to advise on strategies.

  • What motivates you in a morning?

Put simply, doing a good job.
