A free drug-driving information sheet has been published by the Fleet Safety Forum, a division of road safety charity Brake, in partnership with Dtec International, a supplier of drug education, training and screening equipment.

According to Brake, drug-driving is rife on UK roads. Almost one in five (18%) people killed in road crashes in 2000 had traces of illegal drugs in their blood. And 17% of drivers admit driving after taking prescribed or over-the-counter medicine they knew would make them drowsy.

The sheet outlines the importance of introducing and maintaining an effective anti-drug-drive policy and lists illegal drugs and medicines.
