Iveco MD to leave

Well-known industry figure Chris Thorneycroft-Smith is to leave Iveco at the end of June to pursue new interests.

Joining from Leyland DAF in 1993, he initially held the position of marketing director with responsibility for developing the company’s image and communications before moving to head up the company’s light business unit in 2000 and the development of Iveco’s New Daily van range.

He was appointed managing director of Iveco UK in December 2005 with additional responsibility for the activities of ICS and Seddon Atkinson. Henk van Leuven has been appointed to replace him.
