Careers: how are you settling in?

Robert Thrift, national fleet sales manager, Chrysler UK

  • How have you found the first few months in your new role?

Exciting and intense – there are so many new things to get up to speed with.

  • What has been your career highlight to date?

Seeing the positive response of many of the customers in what we are trying to achieve in the fleet sector.

  • What would make your job easier?

Another couple of years’ experience, which you never get when starting a new role, and a few more hours in the day would be nice too.

  • What technology could you not live without?

The coffee machine – I need a really good cup of coffee before I start up the laptop.

  • What is the best advice you have been given?

Always stop and think before you move forward. It can be so easy to plough forward without considering the implications of your actions.

  • What do you do to relax at weekends?

Try to spend time with my wife and daughter. It’s great to get some quality time together and have a good laugh at the simple things in life.
