Andrew Gibson, corporate business development officer, Lloyds TSB autolease

  • You’ve been in the fleet industry for a few years. What keeps you in it?

I enjoy the constant change created by shifting customer strategy and impact of new legislation. It’s also a fun environment – cars are emotive and this creates challenges when designing policies that are attractive to employees and employers.

  • Have you always wanted to work in the industry?

Not necessarily. I have always enjoyed finding solutions to problems and this industry provides opportunities to be creative.

  • How has your career progressed?

I started as an engineer in HGV manufacturing and moved to the sales department, which gave me a taste for the sales environment. I progressed through sales, finally arriving in contract hire in 2000.

  • What do you enjoy about working at the company?

There is a definite can-do attitude whenever a question is posed. There is also a genuine team spirit within Lloyds TSB, which is demonstrated from the top.

  • What would be your dream job?

    Reviewer of international golf courses.
