Spyshot: Golf undercover

The boys at Volkswagen are obviously busy at the moment – last week we caught the new Scirocco coupe testing and this week it’s the turn of the new Golf.

Except the car pictured here is not a new Golf. Instead it’s a facelifted version of the current Mark V model and is due to go on sale here late next year.

The next generation Mark VI Golf is not due for another couple of years – and should make its world debut at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2009 – so to tide the model over it will adopt the grille and headlamps from the Eos coupe-cabriolet.

It will also receive a new look at the back (see pictures).

Expect the current range of petrol and diesel engines to be carried over.
