Elliott reappointed Chrysler UK MD

Chrysler UK has re-appointed Simon Elliott as its managing director.

He was previously managing director at Chrysler UK before taking up the role of president and chief executive for Chrysler LLC China in March 2006.

He returned to the UK in October 2007 to the temporary position of managing director.

The appointment is effective immediately and until a replacement is found in China, Elliott will also manage Chrysler LLC operations there.

Elliott was voted CEO of the year at the recent China Imported Automobile Top List Awards.

He said: “I am extremely glad to come back home to work with the excellent team in Milton Keynes and with our great dealer network.

“We have launched 14 new vehicles in the UK in the last two years and this product offensive will continue in 2008 with the retail launch of Jeep Cherokee, Chrysler Grand Voyager, Chrysler Sebring Cabrio and Dodge Journey.”
