Thomson Local has appointed Alphabet to supply its fleet of 480 cars.

“Alphabet provided the best possible terms for the prestige vehicles that form the bulk of our fleet,” said Thomson’s facilities manager, Chris Field.

Mr Field said the fleet supplier’s electronic quoting and reporting system, known as Alphabet Online, was a factor in its decision.

“Online quoting and reporting, together with emailed updates are now an essential part of any fleet contract,” he said.

The online system integrates customers’ vehicle policies into Alphabet’s vehicle quoting and ordering process. It allows drivers to compare car prices and specifications side-by-side.

The system also lets fleet managers view, approve and track all their drivers’ orders.

Alphabet’s general manager, Mark Sinclair, added: “Mistakes and conflicts over vehicle orders can be the bane of fleet managers’ lives but Alphabet Online eliminates obsolete information and the need to input data again.

“This automatic system has done away with the biggest causes of errors and delays in reordering vehicles.”
