Toyota’s new version of the Land Cruiser goes on sale next month.

The Land Cruiser V8 replaces the Land Cruiser Amazon and features a brand new 4.5-litre V8 diesel engine, which makes 282bhp and 479lb-ft of torque.

Toyota claims the new machine will have the lowest emissions and best fuel consumption in its class, although bearing in mind the class, that’s still 270g/km and 27.7mpg.

A six speed manual gearbox is linked to a four-wheel-drive system with adjustable height control and adaptive suspension.

It will accommodate seven people in three rows of seats, and comes in a single specification that includes satellite navigation, climate control, leather upholstery and a six DVD autochanger.

The Land Cruiser V8 goes on sale on February 15 and will cost £55,995.
