Drivers mistreat company vehicles

Thousands of company car and van drivers are mistreating their vehicles, according to pictures from Fleet Support Group’s (FSG) video inspection systems.

FSG’s approved Masterserve garages are equipped with the remote video inspection system, which enables fleet managers to view the condition of vehicles and components when they are in for repairs or servicing.

A video link allows FSG staff to view pictures via a broadband link.

When vehicle abuse is detected, fleet managers in charge of the damaged vehicles are shown the evidence.

Fleet Support Group chairman Geoffrey Bray said: “The range of vehicle damage that we uncover invariably results in companies taking swift action to stem the abuse.

"By actively encouraging drivers to care for their vehicles, fleet operating costs are reduced and vehicle values maintained.”
