A Fleet Safety Forum campaign is urging organisations to ensure their drivers are carrying out regular vehicle checks to improve road safety and fleet efficiency.

The campaign is being launched with an information pack providing fleet managers with guidance on safe vehicle maintenance policies, and tips for working with drivers to ensure that checks are carried out.

The pack includes a poster aimed at drivers, featuring the headline “You try to eat five veg a day, but do you do five checks a day”.

It highlights five key areas to check regularly on any vehicle:

  • tyres / wheels
  • lights
  • windows / mirrors
  • brakes
  • fluids

Copies can be obtained from Brake by emailing admin@brake.org.uk.

The first 50 copies are free.
