This is Volvo’s new baby sibling for the successful XC90.

The XC60 is seen here undergoing a final shakedown in Sweden ahead of its grand unveiling at the Geneva Motor Show next month.

The new car will have a bolder front end than its big brother and is expected to be virtually identical in design to last year’s XC60 concept, complete with swooping roofline.

A variety of diesel and petrol engines will be available from launch, and all variants will have permanent four-wheel-drive.

The XC60 should hit showrooms in September, priced from around £25,000.
