Audi has announced two new engine additions to the A4 range – a low-emission diesel and a sporty turbocharged petrol unit.

The 2.0 TDI 120 is the cleanest A4 model ever with CO2 emissions of 134g/km and claimed combined fuel economy of 55.4mpg.

The 120bhp unit, essentially a detuned version of the 143bhp 2.0 TDI, is available in saloon and Avant bodystyles with prices ranging from £22,150 to £26,550 for an S line version.

Elsewhere, a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol unit has joined the range.

The 2.0 TFSI produces 211bhp, emits 154g/km of CO2 and returns a claimed 42.8mpg.

Prices range from £24,625 to £29,700.
