Driving ban loophole closed

Motorists may no longer be able to ignore a personal driving ban by applying for a licence from another European Union member state.

A European Court of Justice (ECJ) case is set to close the loophole in EU law.

An ECJ advocate general has formally advised that the state issuing the ban can refuse to recognise the second licence.
