Vauxhall has confirmed that its Insginia Sports Tourer model is to be offered as a low CO2 emission Ecoflex version.
Powered by the familiar 160bhp 2.0-litre diesel engine, the Ecoflex model offers claimed average fuel economy of 53.7mpg (47.1 for the non-Ecoflex mdoel) and CO2 emissions of 139g/km - putting it into the 18% benefit-in-kind tax bracket.
The improvements come from revised aerodynamics, lower ride height and low rolling resistance tyres. Prices start at £21,515.
Elsewhere, Vauxhall has revealed initial details of the new Astra engine line-up. Due to arrive in showrooms on December 11, the new Astra will be offered with a range of 1.4 and 1.6-litre petrol engines, and the familiar CDTi diesels in 1.3, 1.7 and 2.0-litre capacities. It has also revealed premilinary details of the Ecoflex variant of the new Astra, due to go on sale next year offering CO2 emissions of 109g/km (provisional figures) which would qualify the model for full first year writing down allowances.
