U&M Group targets fleet savings with Ctrack

U&M Group has awarded a five-year contract extension to Ctrack for the provision of a vehicle tracking solution across 44 vans. Since using the system the company has achieved greater visibility and control over its mobile assets, including a 20 per cent reduction in accidents, and is now planning to integrate the technology with a fuel management tool to ensure operating costs are kept to a minimum.

Ctrack has enabled U&M Group to see what is happening with mobile assets and employees across its four core businesses – M25 Scaffolding, Bush Hill Construction, U&M Basements and Underpin & Makegood. The system has provided added insight into the fleet operation by providing real-time and historical data that has contributed not only to increased fleet performance, but also helped control costs.

As part of the contract extension, U&M Group will receive a technology upgrade with add fleet management and reporting functionality. Fuel management has been identified as a key aspect of the system, so the new solution will combine fuel data from other back office systems with tracking information to measure and control usage of individual vehicles.

In particular, it will enable the company to monitor and capture real-time movements to ensure vehicles are driven efficiently, avoid unnecessary journeys and remain on-route.

David Gakhar, managing director at U&M Group commented: “The Ctrack system has allowed us to proactively manage our vehicle fleet and external workforce to improve performance and reduce costs. We have worked closely with Ctrack to upgrade the existing solution to meet our business priorities moving forward.”

Tom O’Connor, managing director of Ctrack said: “Increasingly companies are looking for ways of optimising mobile assets and employees to drive down overheads, increase productivity and ensure they are operating responsibly. Our proven technology solutions combined with high levels of service delivery enable customers to achieve measurable benefits and ultimately return on investment.”

Ctrack’s range of real-time vehicle tracking solutions provides vital information about mobile assets and workforce. Suitable for fleets of all sizes, The Ctrack systems can deliver real benefits to fleets by reducing fuel consumption; optimising vehicle utilisation; improving driver performance and safety; enhancing service levels; increasing protection against vehicle theft; and supporting environmental responsibility.
