Fleet Alliance had set a fund raising target of £10,000 for this year which was already passed by the end of April for its adopted charity, Maggie's Cancer Care Centres.

The most recent fund raising event, Maggie's 24-hour ‘Monster Bike and Hike’ challenge, each staff member taking part must cycle 30 miles, and then hike for up to 43 extra miles.

Managing director Martin Brown paid tribute to the fund raising efforts of all involved.

"As a company we have adopted Maggie’s as our company charity, and are delighted to have raised thousands of pounds in the process for this exceptionally worthy cause.

“We wanted to raise the bar again this year and had set a target of £10,000 in sponsorship - it now looks like we will have to raise it again having beaten it out of sight by the end of April, which is a great effort.

“Maggie’s provides much needed support for anyone in the UK with cancer or family members caring for a loved one affected by this dreadful illness and we are proud to support it through our fund-raising efforts,” he said.
