BCA has launched a new look website and promised further improvements to its online offering in the coming months.

It already dominates the online market, accounting for more than 50% of all vehicle remarketing traffic in the UK, according to Experian Hitwise.

However, it is keen to build on that success and the 100,000 plus vehicles it expects to sell online this year.

“The web is changing business models and there is an active demand from customers to use its capabilities to generate cross-selling opportunities and improve their bottom-line,” explained BCA’s remarketing director D’Vidis Jacobs.

“Our strategy is to bring more buyers and more vehicles together in one online setting and to make BCA the first place that buyers think of.

“This is the first of three distinct online product launches that BCA is planning for 2010, with a suite of new online sales channels and a new version of Live Online debuting later in the year.”

The site has been rebuilt from top to bottom to improve the experience of buyers – both professional and consumers – to navigate to the information they need and find the vehicles they want to buy.

It boasts a new interface, which aims to make the user/browser experience much more intuitive and includes the launch of the all-new BCA stock locator, catalogue and pricing service – which has been completely redesigned.

In addition, all the functionality is built into the web platform offering accessibility from a single password.

There are also a series of drop down menus to improve accessibility when drilling down to specific data, revising and amending searches and comparing vehicles. Searches can be saved and e-mail alerts are automatically sent out when vehicles are allocated to the site which meet the required specification.

“BCA is committed to a programme of enhancements in the online and physical remarketing arenas that will make BCA the first place in buyers’ minds when it comes to acquiring stock,” said Jacobs.

The new site - www.british-car-auctions.co.uk - is based on the Pan-European E-Commerce platform operated by BCA in Germany, France, Portugal, Spain and other European markets, but tailored specifically for UK needs.
