SMA Group have announced the multi-million pound expansion of their Leeds Auction Centre. Bob Anderson, managing director, SMA Group, said, “This is another fantastic announcement for the group. We all feel that the investment in our Auction Centre at Leeds will confirm our position in the North of England as the number one Auction Centre of choice”.

The improvements will feature; a new purpose built office mezzanine, a new third auction lane, and an extension to the vehicle display canopy.

Matt Gill, the manager at Leeds, commented, “The developments will see Leeds being able to store over 300 cars under cover and the third auction lane will give us the ability to sell over 1500 cars every week”.

The plans also include a brand new state-of-the-art Technical Services department with the capability for PDI’s, vehicle inspections, SMART repairs, vehicle refurbishment, accident damage repair and valeting services. Ronnie Stewart, the Technical Services General Manager for the Group, said, “I am delighted with the new facilities that the new Leeds technical services department will feature. We have a proven reputation for enhancing customers’ vehicles within a very short time frame.

The expansion, which will be completed by the end of the year, is expected to generate new jobs for the local economy too.
