Following Trimble’s acquisition of Punch Telematix, the company is now looking to grow its European business by offering a full solution set to both light commercial vehicle and heavy goods vehicle market across Europe.

Trimble will be attending the IAA in Germany for the first time to meet customers, explain the acquisition in more detail and present the companies’ vision for the future.

“With Punch Telematix’s focus on transportation management solutions, the acquisition expands Trimble’s MRM portfolio of products and services,” says Andrew Yeoman, managing director of Trimble’s mobile resource management division in Europe.

“It fits well with our strategy of offering a complete range of solutions for a variety of commercial vehicles—from passenger car and service van fleets to light, heavy and semi trucks.”

Trimble made a cash bid worth around 13.5 million euros (£12 million) for Punch Telematix.

“The market for Punch Telematix solutions are expected to grow, given that Trimble has a global presence as a leading provider of positioning solutions and applications for mobile resource management,” says Michel Van Maercke, CEO of Punch Telematix.

“The acquisition offers good prospects for the future of the business as our solutions are highly complementary.”
