The Road Haulage Association is delighted at the news that the issue of crippling fuel prices will finally receive a formal debate in the House of Commons.

“This is a tremendous victory for FairFuelUK, its supporters and all those who took the time to put their names to the e-petition of the Government website”, said RHA chief executive Geoff Dunning. “It also shows the strength of feeling among MPs that this is an issue that is hurting each and every one of their constituents.

“It is particularly encouraging for UK hauliers who have considered themselves to be fighting a losing battle against ever increasing levels of fuel duty.

Although the final details are yet to be established; date of the debate etc., the RHA is thrilled that all the hard work has paid off and that the issue will get the hearing it, and every user of fuel in the country, deserves.

The Association would also like to thank member of Parliament for Harlow, Robert Halfon, for his work in the formation and leadership of the All Party Working Group on FairFuelUK.
