Seat’s fleet sales operation is celebrating an outstanding doubling of its September registrations as the Spanish brand closes in on its goal of becoming a fleet manufacturer of choice.

With September’s sales now accounted for, and the official Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders’ (SMMT) figures published, Seat has seen its share of the hard-fought fleet market soar to a record 2.5% and 3,830 sales.

That’s a 100.7% increase on September 2010 which was itself a very strong month for the Spanish car maker.

The sales surge underlines the success of Seat’s drive to become a significant force in the UK fleet market. The strategy to become a fleet manufacturer of choice was launched in late 2009.

Seat UK national fleet sales manager Sally Livingstone-Dennis said: “The initiatives we have put in place over the past couple of years – investments in both people and systems – are now bearing fruit and I’m convinced that this successful performance will continue.”
