British Car Auctions to ‘mothball’ two centres

BCA has confirmed that it is proposing to mothball both its Newport and Tewkesbury auction centres at the end of this year (2011).

The company, which has 21 centres across the UK, says it would consolidate existing business from these two centres with an expanded sales programme at BCA Bridgwater in Somerset. The company has opened consultation with staff at both locations.

A BCA spokesman said: “We have entered into discussions with the employees most directly affected by this proposal. During the period of formal consultation the Company will make no further comment.”
