Information management company EDM Group has been awarded a contract extension by Avis Europe.

The three year deal, which is worth in excess of £1.8 million, will see EDM process and securely store more than 45 million customer documents over the contract period.

Chris Soanes, European relationship manager - customer billing & document systems for Avis Europe said: “EDM’s integrated, pan-European system allows Avis Europe to seamlessly store and retrieve 15 million customer documents a year.

“The system is not only straightforward, it’s also 100 per cent reliable, giving us absolute confidence that we can continue to deliver a highly efficient customer service. As such, they are an integral part of our business and we are delighted to extend our contract with them.”

When Avis Europe originally enlisted EDM’s services they were seeking a solution which would make managing their European paper chain simple, with predictable monthly charges based on projected volumes.

As part of its consultancy service, EDM set up RIO (Rental Images Online), a customised EDM Online solution and secure information management system. This system allows Avis’ shared service centre to access essential customer information at any branch – all at the click of a button.

Sam Ferguson, chief executive of EDM Group, said: “The end-to-end solution we have provided Avis Europe with has helped them achieve substantial savings in staff time, costs and storage space.

“As a result, the growing paper mountain has been eliminated, and the Avis staff and agents across Europe can now provide a faster initial response to customers. This is a real success story for high-volume, centralised document management in Europe.

“We are therefore delighted they have extended their contract with us and look forward to helping them achieve even more operational efficiencies over the next three years.”
