Mini unveiled a high-performance diesel engine for its range at the Geneva Motor Show with CO2 emissions from 114g/km.

The 143bhp 2.0-litre engine will be badges as a Cooper S D, and will be offered in hatchback, Clubman, Convertible and Countryman models, the latter with either front-wheel drive or All4 four-wheel drive.

In the hatchback version, the Cooper S D will accelerate from 0-62mph in 8.1 seconds, but records 65.7mpg on the combined cycle.

All versions are available to order now with prices ranging from £18,750 on the road to £23,190.
