Mitsubishi Motors in the UK has announced its latest composite figures confirming return on sales (ROS) results for 2010 and Quarter One 2011.

The figures reveal the healthy state of the Mitsubishi franchise in the UK with dealer profitability in 2010 the best in the company’s history, and that Quarter One 2011 has continued the same strong performance.

Lance Bradley, Mitsubishi Motors in the UK’s managing director, stated: “The first item on my agenda at every dealer meeting is their profitability, so it is very pleasing to see that our focus has not only secured an increased profit for the average Mitsubishi dealer, but that 25% of our UK dealers are achieving ROS in excess of a staggering 5%. Dealer profitability will continue to be a key focus for us moving forwards.”

The composite figures also show that 85% of Mitsubishi dealers are in profit versus 73% in the same period in 2010 – a 12% increase.

Mitsubishi Motors UK recently confirmed that its Quarter One 2011 sales are up more than 17% compared to Quarter One 2010, in sharp contrast to the 13% decline in the total UK vehicle market.1 Whilst vehicle sales increased, the sales success has clearly not been at the expense of dealer profitability.

The brand is continuing to expand its network of UK dealers, appointing a total of 17 new dealers in 2010 and a further 6 so far in 2011, with several other new dealer prospects waiting to join the franchise.
