Accident repair group, ADR, has upped its recycling performance, diverting more than 54,500 tons of waste from landfill in the first three months of the year.

Across its 10 repair centres in the Midlands and Yorkshire, ADR’s recycling efforts for the first quarter represented some 67% of its waste output, which meant its carbon saving was equivalent to taking 11 cars off the road or heating 31 homes for 3 months.

To help achieve these results ADR has been working with pioneering recycling specialists, SWR.

Commenting on the latest recycling figures, ADR’s group commercial manager, Greg Stansfield, said: “With our 10 repair centres and over 500 employees, we are very aware of our environmental responsibilities. Our team has really bought into our recycling drive and we are all delighted with the latest figures. We are now working on ways to improve our recycling rate still further.”
