Towergate Insurance and RAC launch new commercial insurance offering

Towergate Insurance has announced that it has entered into a three-year agreement with RAC to provide commercial motor and small business products under the RAC brand.

The agreement will cover a range of commercial motor products from single trucks through to large commercial fleets. It will also include SME products for small businesses.

RAC, which is entering the commercial motor and SME space, already has a customer base of two million private members and five million corporate members. Towergate Insurance is a leading provider of insurance to the SME market. It is also one of the largest providers of commercial motor insurance, working with many SME businesses and larger operators including the Freight Transport Association.

Michael Rea, ceo Towergate Retail Division said: “We’re delighted to be working alongside a fantastic brand such as RAC. This is an excellent fit between two companies with a reputation for delivering great products and customer service. It also reinforces our position as one of the leading providers of commercial motor and SME insurance in the UK. Together with RAC we can offer business customers access to a range of quality products to suit their needs.”

David Aldridge, business services director from RAC, said, “We are delighted to partner with Towergate. As organisations, we share many of the same values, including a clear focus on developing the right products to meet customer needs, providing choice to serve individual requirements, and delivering high quality service all of the time. We are looking forward to a long-standing relationship which we hope will deliver our members a range of products and services which meet their needs and that deliver the same level of service that they currently experience from our breakdown service.”
